Modifier OH can be used in relatively high amounts as a reactive silicone plasticizer for the production of soft (low-modulus) silicone sealants, or for gellike products. Using Modifier OH, the potential “bleeding”, i.e. the migration of plasticizers from the sealant to the substrate, can be prevented efficiently. Bleeding is well known with natural stone (granite, marble) in particular, due to the formation of dark edges along the join.

It should be emphasized that formulations with Modifier OH exhibit an excellent early green strength, which is significantly improved compared to non-reactive silicone plasticizers.
